AlphaMCS Training

AlphaMCS is the new software package from AlphaCM that Smoky Mountain Center is using to replace our aging BUI system as we have moved into the implementation of the NC Medicaid Waiver. This new system will allow us to manage the large amounts of requests and claims that come in as part of Waiver operations. Please use the training materials below to help familiarize yourselves with the new system after you have participated in one of our hands-on trainings at one of our training facilities.

**NOTE** - AlphaMCS requires the latest version of Microsoft's Silverlight plug-in for your internet browser. Please use the button below to download!
Get Microsoft Silverlight!

We strongly encourage everyone in our provider network to attend one of the Hands-On or Webinar trainings listed below, as it will be necessary to gain access to the new system.

To get signed up for one of the trainings, please follow the steps below:
  • Email the SMC Training Coordinator at smc.training@smokymountaincenter.com

  • Your email should include the following:
    • Your Name
    • Your Provider Agency
    • The LME/MCOs your Agency works with
    • Your Phone Number
    • Your Office Address (Address, City, State, Zip)
    • Your Email Address
    • The date of the training you would like to attend
    • The location of the training
    • Whether you want to attend the Claims (8:45am - 12pm) or Clinical (12:45pm - 5pm) session

  • Be sure to include an alternate Date and/or Location in your email, in case your original selection is full

  • Wait for a response email from our Training Coordinator

  • If you do not receive a response from our Training Coordinator verifying you are registered, then you are not registered - We have limited spaces available, and cannot allow people to show up without registering first.

On the day of the training, please be sure to arrive at the training facility 15 minutes prior to the start of the class. This will ensure that we can start the class on time. Please be respectful of the instructor's and the other attendees' time.

Please feel free to download the SMC Provider Portal Training Info and Functionality Tips document (UPDATED 12/31/2012) prior to attending your registered class, as the information contained in it will be discussed during the training.
